UK drivers have been suffering at the hands of increasing insurance premiums in addition to the accidents that have increased overtime to gain insurance claims. Furthermore, it is noted that accidents involving the uninsured motorists can add to the surmounting insurance premiums. Close to 1.5 million drivers in UK ride without insurance cover for their cars and while the same is considered as an illegal practice, there has been no improvement in the same. The car insurance continues to see troubling times with a recent research claiming that UK motorists have been giving up on their savings by agreeing to automatic insurance renewals. The researcher, an insurance mammoth in UK, sees this as a behaviour marked by recklessness, for even with insurance deals available people choose not to compare car insurance. If the motorists choose comparing even in the current downturn, it is likely that they will be able to save £230 in a single year, which is a small amount yet significant.

The research when extended to cover, a greater driving population showed that close to 36% of UK drivers continue to show interest in getting economical insurance policies while the younger drivers have been showing an increased trend to change their insurance providers.
