A foreign driving licence can only be exchanged within 1 year of the holder thereof obtaining permanent residence. Question:

Am I allowed to go with an automatic car for my licence, understanding that I am then only allowed to drive automatic?

Driving school told me that I am no longer allowed to go with an automatic car.

When Do you need a PrDP Licence? This was also discussed on Insurance Chat in a Blog post titled When do you need a Professional Driving Permit?

We would also like to share 2 other requests for asisstance on this matter:

Example 1:

Question: I will required to transport clients on the odd occasion from eg Airport to Hotel

a) Do I require a PDP?

b) How do I go about applying for one ?

c) what is the implication if I am stopped and I do not have a PDP?

Answer:

If you are transporting passengers for reward then the driver will require a Professional Driving Permit , category P-Passengers.

You must be in possession of a driving licence to operate the class of vehicle and be older than 21.

You can apply for a PrDP at any driving licence testing centre, perhaps try Goodwood, Gallow’s Hill or Milnerton DLTC.

Do you live in Dorking? If you do then the likelihood is that you were more than a little unhappy when your home insurance renewal premiums dropped on your door mat this year. A report on home insurance premiums recently revealed that the average rise in Dorking last year was from £119 to £174, or 46%. Chicago Toyota announced on Thursday that it is recalling more than 300 000 sport utility vehicles in the United States to fix faulty airbag sensors.

The automaker said the sensors which are designed to detect vehicle roll angle can malfunction and inadvertently cause the side curtain airbag and seatbelt to be activated.

The sensor malfunction does not prevent the airbag from deploying during a collision, Toyota said in a statement.

A Toyota spokesperson said the Japanese automaker has received defect-related reports of “minor injuries, including a report of a persons hand being cut by a seatbelt in March”.

The recall affects 214 000 RAV4 vehicles and 94 000 Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles from the 2007 and 2008 model years. Sa
